The schadenfreude around the University of North Carolina football program is beginning to fog the room. A booster-led funding drive specifically designed to install Bill Belichick as the Tar Heels’ head coach has led to a collective leakage of both blood and oil: The team is getting rocked on a regular basis, and Belichick’s predilection to 1.) act like a horse’s ass and 2.) continue dating a 24-year-old former first runner-up in the Miss Maine USA pageant does not appear to be helping.
That is a lot to unpack, I know. But it somehow got foggier over the weekend.
